Leviticus 8

Leviticus 8

This chapter documents the consecration of Aaron and his sons as priests, exactly as God commanded Moses on Mount Sinai. Moses washes Aaron and his sons, dresses them in their holy garments (including Aaron’s magnificent breastpiece), and anoints the Tabernacle and the priests with oil. A series of sacrifices are performed, with the blood sprinkled on the altar and on the right ears, thumbs, and toes of the priests, visually symbolizing their dedication to hearing, doing, and walking in God's service.
