Luke 14

Luke 14

Jesus heals a man with swelling (dropsy) on the Sabbath in the home of a leading Pharisee. He then teaches the lesson of humility, urging guests to take the lowest seat at a banquet. Jesus advises His followers that when they host a dinner, they should invite the poor and disabled, who cannot repay them. Jesus then tells the Parable of the Great Banquet, where the invited guests make excuses, leading the host to fill the table with the poor and marginalized.
