Luke 1
Luke begins with a formal introduction to Theophilus, explaining his careful research. Gabriel then visits the virgin Mary in Nazareth, announcing she will conceive the Son of God through the Holy Spirit. Mary visits Elizabeth, who prophetically greets her. The chapter concludes with Zechariah’s prophecy after John’s birth.
