Luke 23

Luke 23

Jesus is brought before the Roman governor, Pilate, who finds no fault in Him and tries repeatedly to release Him, sending Him to Herod. Herod mocks Jesus and sends Him back. Pilate yields to the crowd’s demands to release the criminal Barabbas and crucify Jesus. Jesus is led to Golgotha, where He is crucified between two criminals. Jesus forgives one of the criminals, promising, "Today you will be with me in paradise." After Jesus dies, Joseph of Arimathea buries Him.
