Luke 4

Luke 4

Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, is led into the wilderness for forty days to be tempted by the devil. Jesus resists the devil by quoting Scripture, affirming His total devotion to God. Jesus begins His ministry by reading from Isaiah in His hometown Nazareth synagogue, declaring, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me… to proclaim good news to the poor." The people reject Him, forcing Him to flee. Jesus goes to Capernaum, where He teaches with authority and casts out a demon.
