Jesus first forgives the man's sins, then commands him to walk, shocking the religious leaders. Jesus then calls Levi (Matthew) the tax collector to follow Him and defends eating with sinners, stating He came to call the sick, not the righteous. Jesus is then confronted for allowing His disciples to pluck grain on the Sabbath.
