Mark 6

Mark 6

Jesus returns to His hometown of Nazareth, but the people are offended by His teachings, seeing Him as just a local carpenter. Because of their unbelief, Jesus can perform very few miracles there. Jesus then sends out the Twelve Disciples in pairs, giving them authority to preach and heal. The chapter briefly recounts the horrific beheading of John the Baptist by Herod. Jesus and the disciples later retreat, but crowds follow, leading Jesus to feed five thousand men with five loaves and two fish.
