Mark 8

Mark 8

Jesus performs a second miraculous feeding, providing for four thousand people with seven loaves and a few small fish. The Pharisees again demand a sign, and Jesus condemns their hardness of heart. Jesus takes His disciples aside and asks them, "Who do you say I am?" Simon Peter confesses, "You are the Christ." Jesus then firmly predicts His own suffering, death, and resurrection. He teaches that anyone who wishes to follow Him must deny themselves and take up their cross.

Ephesians 2

Paul states we were dead in sin, but God made us alive by grace through faith—a gift, not by works. Christ created one new humanity (Jew and Gentile) by destroying the dividing wall.

Ephesians 3

Paul reveals the mystery of Christ: the Gentiles are fellow heirs in the body. Paul prays that the Ephesians may grasp the immense breadth and depth of Christ's love.
