Matthew 19

Matthew 19

Jesus debates the Pharisees about divorce, clarifying that Moses permitted it only because of human hardness of heart, but God's original intent was lifelong marriage. Jesus blesses little children, saying the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those like them. A rich young man asks what good deed he must do to inherit eternal life. Jesus tells him to sell all his possessions and follow Him. The man sadly refuses, leading Jesus to teach that wealth makes salvation incredibly difficult.
