Matthew 6

Matthew 6

Continuing the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus teaches about true motives in religious acts. He warns against practicing piety—giving, praying, and fasting—just to be seen by others. Jesus provides the Lord's Prayer as a model for genuine communication with God. He instructs His followers to store up treasures in heaven, not on earth, and assures them not to worry about food or clothing, because their heavenly Father knows their needs and will provide.
