Numbers 10

Numbers 10

The Lord commands Moses to make two silver trumpets. These trumpets are used for several crucial purposes: to signal the movement of the camp, to call the congregation together for assembly, and to sound the alarm for war. This chapter then narrates the actual departure of the Israelites from Mount Sinai, where they had camped for nearly a year. As the people set out, the cloud of God’s glory lifts from the Tabernacle, leading them on the first stage of their journey toward the Promised Land.
