Numbers 13

Numbers 13

The Israelites arrive at the edge of Canaan, and God commands Moses to send twelve spies, one leader from each tribe, to scout the land. After forty days, the spies return, confirming the land flows with milk and honey. However, ten of the spies give a fearful, faithless report, claiming the inhabitants are giants (Nephilim) and their cities are impenetrable. Only Caleb and Joshua urge the people to trust God and take the land immediately, but the majority report leads the people into despair and rebellion.
