Numbers 22

Numbers 22

The Israelites successfully march into the plains of Moab, terrifying King Balak of Moab, who fears they will destroy his kingdom. Balak hires Balaam, a powerful non-Israelite prophet known for his accurate curses, to come and curse the Israelites. God initially warns Balaam not to go, but after Balaam persists out of greed, God allows him to go, commanding him to speak only the words God gives him. On the way, Balaam’s donkey miraculously speaks to him, saving him from an angel who blocks his path.
