Numbers 24

Numbers 24

Balaam delivers two more oracles. He looks out over the Israelite camp and speaks a profound blessing, describing Israel’s future power and prosperity. His fourth and final oracle is a messianic prophecy, foretelling the coming of a Star that will rise from Jacob and a Scepter that will come out of Israel to crush the heads of Moab and Edom. Balaam then departs, unable to harm the Israelites, leaving Balak disappointed that the prophet only uttered blessings and prophecies of Israel’s ultimate dominion.
