Proverbs 12

Proverbs 12

The chapter contrasts the value of correction with the destruction caused by lies. It states that whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but one who hates correction is stupid. A good man obtains favor from the Lord, but a wicked man receives condemnation. The central focus is on truthfulness: a lying tongue lasts only a moment, but a truthful lip endures forever. The righteous are concerned for the welfare of their animals, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
