Proverbs 16

Proverbs 16

This chapter emphasizes God's sovereignty over all human plans and actions. It states that the plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. God weighs the spirits, and all of a man's ways are known to Him. The chapter teaches that pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. The best way to make your thoughts firm is to commit your works to the Lord. Better to be patient than mighty, and better to rule your spirit than to take a city.
