Proverbs 19

Proverbs 19

This chapter contrasts poverty with wickedness and emphasizes the danger of anger. Better is the poor who walks in integrity than he who is crooked in speech and is a fool. Slothfulness casts a person into a deep sleep, and the idle person will suffer hunger. The chapter advises restraining anger, as discretion makes a man slow to anger. Crucially, whoever has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay what he has given. Discipline your son while there is hope, and do not desire his destruction.
