Proverbs 29

Proverbs 29

This chapter emphasizes the consequences of instruction and authority. The man who is often rebuked, yet hardens his neck, will suddenly be destroyed. When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan. A king who establishes the land by justice gives stability, but one who takes bribes tears it down. Where there is no prophetic vision, the people cast off restraint, but happy is he who keeps the Law. A hot-tempered man causes strife, but one who is slow to anger appeases contention.
