Proverbs 30

Proverbs 30

This chapter records the Sayings of Agur. Agur speaks humbly, professing his own lack of knowledge and asking God for two things: to remove lying and give him neither poverty nor riches, lest he be so full he denies God, or so poor he steals. Agur then describes four things that are never satisfied (like the grave). He concludes with observations on four things small but wise (the ants, rock badgers, locusts, and lizard) and four things majestic in their movement (the lion and the ship at sea).
