Proverbs 6

Proverbs 6

This chapter warns against several specific foolish behaviors. It first warns against the danger of guaranteeing a loan for a stranger (co-signing debt), urging the reader to quickly free himself from the obligation. It then condemns laziness, using the diligent ant as an example of a creature that works without a leader. The chapter lists seven things that God hates (including a lying tongue and hands that shed innocent blood) and concludes with another strong warning against the destructive and costly nature of adultery.
