Psalms 107

Psalms 107

A powerful hymn of deliverance declaring God's goodness and mercy toward those in distress. The Psalm describes four universal situations of distress (wandering in the wilderness, captivity, sickness, and storms at sea), showing how people cried out to the Lord in their trouble and He delivered them all. The repeated refrain is crucial: "Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!" The Psalm concludes by noting that the wise will observe these things and understand God's loyal love.
