Psalms 10

Psalms 10

A lament that grapples with the seeming absence of God during times of intense wickedness and oppression. David asks, "Why do you stand afar off, O Lord? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?" David describes the arrogant, greedy, and wicked man who defies God and boasts of his evil success, believing God does not see or care. David pleads with God to arise and execute justice. David finds assurance, declaring that God sees the trouble and sorrow and will hear the desire of the humble, defending the cause of the fatherless and oppressed.
