Psalms 113

Psalms 113

The first of the six Hallel Psalms sung during major Jewish feasts. The people are commanded to Praise the Lord! The Psalm proclaims God's glory is above the heavens, and He humbles Himself to behold the things in heaven and on earth. God is praised for His compassion toward the powerless. He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap to seat them with princes. He gives the barren woman a home, making her a joyful mother of children, proving God’s power to change fortunes.
