Psalms 119

Psalms 119

The longest Psalm and the longest chapter in the Bible, an extensive, acrostic meditation on the perfection and value of God's Word (using eight different synonyms for Scripture in almost every verse: Law, Testimonies, Precepts, Statutes, Commandments, Judgments, Word, Way). The Psalmist expresses a lifelong, passionate love for God's Law, praying for understanding and strength to obey it perfectly. The Psalm shows how God's Word is the source of wisdom, comfort, life, and hope, even in times of extreme persecution and suffering.
