Psalms 121

Psalms 121

A powerful song of assurance and protection for the traveler. The Psalmist asks, "I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help?" The immediate answer: "My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth." The Lord is declared the ultimate Guardian of Israel, who will not slumber nor sleep. The Lord is a constant shade and protection. The Psalm concludes with an absolute promise: "The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore."
