Psalms 123

Psalms 123

A short, desperate prayer of lifting eyes to God in the face of contempt and mockery. The Psalmist looks up to the Lord, whose throne is in the heavens, declaring that their eyes are fixed on God, waiting for His mercy. The Psalmist complains that their soul is filled with the scoffing of those who are at ease and the contempt of the proud. The Psalmist offers no solutions or claims of innocence, simply appealing directly to God for mercy to relieve the crushing reproach they are currently enduring.
