Psalms 126

Psalms 126

A joyful song of remembrance for the return from Babylonian captivity. The people recall the amazing moment when the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, and they were "like those who dream." Their mouths were filled with laughter, and the nations acknowledged, "The Lord has done great things for them." The Psalm concludes with a prayer for the present: "Restore our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the South." The people promise that those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.
