Psalms 131

Psalms 131

A short, humble psalm of self-control and quiet trust. David declares that his heart is not proud, nor are his eyes haughty. He does not concern himself with great matters or things too lofty for him. Instead, he has calmed and quieted his soul, like a weaned child rests on its mother. The Psalmist urges the entire nation of Israel to hope in the Lord from this time forth and forever, demonstrating contentment and deep reliance on God's will.
