Psalms 135

Psalms 135

A hymn of praise celebrating God's unique power in contrast to worthless idols. The people are commanded to Praise the Lord! and praise the name of the Lord. God is praised for choosing Jacob for Himself and Israel for His special treasure. God is declared great, doing whatever He pleases in heaven and earth. The Psalm then mocks the idols made of silver and gold that cannot speak, see, or hear. The Psalm concludes by urging the house of Aaron and all who fear the Lord to bless the Lord.
