Psalms 138

Psalms 138

A short song of personal thanksgiving and worship. David promises to praise God with his whole heart and sing praises before the gods (or rulers). David praises God for honoring His Word (promise) above all His name. When David cried out, God answered him and strengthened him with courage. David prophesies that all the kings of the earth shall praise the Lord when they hear the words of His mouth. David concludes with confidence that the Lord will perfect that which concerns him, affirming that God’s mercy endures forever.
