Psalms 13

Psalms 13

A deeply emotional lament of four questions and a confident turn. David cries out, asking God, "How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?" David expresses his inner struggle and his fear that his enemies will triumph over him. Then, in a powerful shift, David declares, "But I have trusted in your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation." David resolves to sing to the Lord because God has dealt bountifully with him, moving instantly from despair to determined faith.
