Psalms 141

Psalms 141

A prayer requesting God's help to maintain purity of speech and action. David cries out, asking God to hear him quickly. He prays that his prayer may be set before God as incense, and the lifting up of his hands as the evening sacrifice. David prays for God to set a guard over his mouth and keep watch over the door of his lips so he does not speak wickedly. He asks God to discipline him when he sins. David concludes that his eyes are upon the Lord, and he asks God not to leave him defenceless.
