Psalms 143

Psalms 143

The seventh and final Penitential Psalm, a prayer asking for God's quick intervention. David asks God to hear his prayer, not entering into judgment with him, for no one living is righteous in God's sight. David is overwhelmed; his spirit is fainting, and he remembers the former days of God's powerful acts. David prays, "Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust." He prays for God to teach him God's will and lead him in the level land by God's Spirit, asking God to destroy his enemies for His name's sake.
