Psalms 146

Psalms 146

The first of the final five Hallelujah Psalms, focusing on putting trust only in God. The Psalmist commands his soul to praise the Lord. The Psalmist warns: "Do not put your trust in princes, nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help." When a man dies, his plans perish. Blessed is the man whose hope is in the God of Jacob, the Creator of heaven and earth. God executes justice for the oppressed, gives food to the hungry, and loves the righteous. The Psalm concludes: "The Lord shall reign forever—Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord!"
