Psalms 14

Psalms 14

This Psalm addresses the ultimate folly of atheism and moral corruption. "The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God.'" The resulting wickedness is pervasive: all humanity is corrupt, there is none who does good, and all are depraved. God looks down from heaven and finds that everyone has turned away. The Psalm laments that the wicked consume God’s people like bread and do not call upon the Lord. It ends with a plea for salvation to come out of Zion to restore Israel's fortunes.
