Psalms 24

Psalms 24

A majestic processional hymn celebrating the Lord's return to His holy hill. The Psalm first proclaims God's sovereignty: "The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness." It then asks the fundamental question for entrance: "Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?" The answer is the person with clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol. The Psalm commands the ancient gates of Jerusalem to "Lift up your heads," so the King of Glory may come in, declaring the Lord of hosts is the King of Glory.
