Psalms 31

Psalms 31

A lament of distress that finds refuge in God's faithfulness. David puts his trust completely in God, praying to be delivered from the secret traps set by his enemies. He declares, "Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth." David laments his isolation, fear, and deep distress, feeling forgotten and broken like a shattered vessel. David then remembers God's past kindness, declaring that God has hidden him in a secret place. The Psalm concludes with the firm exhortation, "Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord."
