Psalms 32

Psalms 32

The second of the Penitential Psalms, celebrating the joy of forgiveness. David proclaims the blessedness of the man whose transgression is forgiven and whose sin is covered. David describes the misery he felt when he kept silent about his sin—his health failed, and God's hand was heavy upon him. When he finally confessed his transgression to the Lord, God instantly forgave the iniquity of his sin. David urges all the godly to pray and hide in God, promising that the wicked will be surrounded by sorrow, but mercy will surround those who trust the Lord.
