Psalms 33

Psalms 33

A majestic hymn of praise celebrating God's Word, Creation, and Providence. The righteous are called to rejoice, for the word of the Lord is right and true, and all His works are done in faithfulness. By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of His mouth all the stars were created. God frustrates the plans of the nations, but God's own counsel stands forever. The Psalm affirms that salvation does not come through military strength, but through God's loving-kindness. The people conclude, "Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield."
