Psalms 43

Psalms 43

A direct continuation of the previous Psalm, containing the same passionate plea for God's intervention. The Psalmist asks God to vindicate him against the ungodly nation and the deceitful man. He asks God to send out His light and His truth to lead him back to God's holy hill and the altar. The Psalmist longs to go to the altar of God and praise Him with a harp. The Psalm concludes with the same confident self-exhortation: "Why are you cast down, O my soul? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him—the help of my countenance and my God."
