Psalms 47

Psalms 47

A joyous enthronement Psalm celebrating God's universal kingship. The people are commanded to clap their hands and shout to God with the voice of triumph. The Lord Most High is declared to be the great King over all the earth. The Psalm celebrates God's victory as He ascends to heaven with a shout and the sound of a trumpet. God reigns over the nations, and the princes of the people are gathered to Him, declaring that the shields of the earth belong to God, who is highly exalted.
