Psalms 52

Psalms 52

A psalm of indignation against a malicious enemy, likely Doeg the Edomite, who betrayed the priests. David confronts the wicked man who boasts of his evil and loves lies and deceit more than truth. David warns that God will surely destroy the wicked man, rooting him out of the land of the living. David contrasts the arrogant villain with himself: he is like a green olive tree in the house of God, trusting in God’s steadfast love forever. David concludes by praising God's deeds and waiting on God's good name in the presence of the saints.
