Psalms 53

Psalms 53

A repetition of Psalm 14, reaffirming the folly of atheism and pervasive human wickedness. The psalm declares, "The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God.'" The result is universal corruption—all humanity is morally depraved, and there is none who does good. God looks down from heaven and finds that everyone has turned away and become vile. The psalm describes the wicked consuming God’s people like bread. It ends with an earnest plea for salvation to come out of Zion to restore Israel's fortunes and bring joy to God's people.
