Psalms 59

Psalms 59

A prayer for defense and deliverance, written by David when Saul sent men to watch his house and kill him. David compares his enemies to dogs who howl and prowl the city at night, unjustly seeking his life. David relies on God's strength and mercy, declaring, "But I will sing of your power; yes, I will sing aloud of your mercy in the morning; for you have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble." David concludes by affirming that God will let him look in triumph on his enemies.
