Psalms 61

Psalms 61

A prayer from a leader facing deep personal distress, likely written when David was far from the center of power. David cries to God from the end of the earth, asking to be led to the rock that is higher than he. David praises God as his strong tower and refuge. He asks for the privilege of dwelling in God's tabernacle forever and finding refuge under the shelter of His wings. David prays for the king's life to be prolonged, that he may endure before God, and promises to perform his vows daily.
