Psalms 68

Psalms 68

A triumphant song of victory and procession, celebrating God's power as He leads His people. The psalm begins: "Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered." It recalls the glorious movement of God from Sinai, commanding the earth to tremble before Him. God is praised as the Father of the fatherless and the Defender of widows. The psalm describes God ascending on high, leading captives, and receiving gifts among men (a prophecy later applied to Christ). The people conclude by praising God for crushing His enemies and giving strength and power to His people.
