Psalms 71

Psalms 71

A confident prayer of the elderly man, appealing to God for continued protection and strength. The Psalmist affirms his lifelong trust: "For You are my hope, O Lord God; You are my trust from my youth." He asks God not to cast him off in old age, as his enemies are now saying, "God has forsaken him." He prays for God to be his strong refuge. The Psalmist promises that even in old age, he will declare God's strength and righteousness to the next generation and will constantly praise God.
