Psalms 73

Psalms 73

A crucial wisdom psalm by Asaph, detailing his profound struggle with the prosperity of the wicked. The Psalmist admits that his foot had almost slipped when he saw the arrogant wicked enjoying health, peace, and abundance, growing proud and violent. The Psalmist felt his own godliness was useless. His struggle ended when he entered the sanctuary of God and understood their ultimate end—they are set on slippery places and will suddenly be destroyed. The Psalmist concludes: "It is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God."
