Psalms 76

Psalms 76

A powerful hymn of deliverance celebrating God's fearsome defense of Jerusalem. The people proclaim that God is known in Judah and that His dwelling place is in Zion. God broke the bows, swords, and shields of the enemy who dared to attack the city. God’s rebuke silenced the mighty men who fell asleep (died) and could not use their hands. The Psalm commands all the nations to bring gifts to God and pay their vows, acknowledging God’s terrifying power, as He cuts off the spirit of princes and is awesome to the kings of the earth.
