Psalms 77

Psalms 77

A lament that wrestles with God's seeming rejection and past faithfulness. The Psalmist cries out in distress, asking, "Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He in anger shut up His tender mercies?" The Psalmist resolves to remember the years of the right hand of the Most High and recall the magnificent deeds of the Lord from ancient times. The Psalmist meditates on the Exodus, describing God leading His people through the sea like a shepherd, proving God's unparalleled power to redeem. The Psalmist finds comfort in God's historical actions.
